John Morrison CSRT CSSW
I have a joinery trades background and my first experiences in the dampness and timber decay industry started in the late 1980’s as a technician within two of the largest companies in the UK preservation industry (Rentokil Property Care and then Richardson & Starling (N) Ltd.)
I passed the examinations and qualified as a Surveyor for Remedial Treatment by The Institute of Wood Science in September 1997 and as a Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing in June 2006 (CSRT & CSSW)
Within my roles in these companies, I developed my own personal skills and understanding the construction of buildings and the defects that can occur to the fabrics used in construction through poor maintenance i.e. allowing rainwater to enter the property creating conditions suitable for fungal decay. Internal plumbing defects as well as occupants living habits can also lead to damp related issues such as condensation.
As a surveyor I have inspected buildings of varying sizes from 1-bedroom properties to large castles and no matter the property types the correct identification of defects as well as addressing the source is essential.
Our clients can be assured they will receive exactly the same high standard of professionalism and courtesy no matter the size or type of property.
